So here I have chosen this story from MUIS Singapore on YouTube. The title is "The Gift of Giving." As the title suggests, it is clear that this story is about giving. The main character in the story is Hakim. He has a father who really loves helping others. This habit was always done in front of his son, Hakim. At first Hakim felt confused about why his father had to bother helping others. Until one day during a lesson, Hakim happened to notice that one of his classmates, Khairul was studying with an old worn out book.

For some reason, Hakim suddenly felt pity even though in the past he had never really paid attention when others needed help. This movie gives a touching impression because they used dim colors throughout the scenes. The calm camera movements and the choice of close-up shots allow us to feel the emotions as well.

This movie does not have much on sound effects, and I personally like that. The audience is not distracted and can stay fully focused on the story. In addition, the dialogue is presented as the inner voice of Hakim the main character. This way, we can clearly understand how his personality changes throughout the story. Hakim’s expressions also play a strong role in supporting the narrative. Before he became someone who cared about others, his facial expressions showed confusion whenever he saw his father helping people. Yet, without realizing it, his expression gradually changed when he saw Khairul struggling.

(I'm crying when i watch this scene:")

We can conclude that this story has two target audiences, they are parents and children. In this story, Hakim’s father plays a very important as a role model for his son, teaching him to always do good to others. Likewise, Hakim can also be an example for other children to be kind to their friends. For me personally, this story feels quite relatable to my own life. I used to not really care about others, until one day I gave a small amount of money to a beggar. Even though it wasn’t much, he gave me so many kind prayers in return that truly touched my heart. Somehow, there’s a different feeling that comes when we choose to give.

Okaaaay, we’ve reached the end of this review! So guys, what do you think? Does this review make you interested in watching it? If YES, you can click the link I’ve attached above. And if you’ve already watched it, please share your thoughts in the comments below!
